Grades are based on value at given draft position. Comparing where a player was picked versus expectation. Expectation is based on FantasyPro's Expert Consensus Rank or ECR.
They say that football greatness is earned on the gridiron. Gary Anderson's Right Foot is proof that it can also be earned at a keyboard. The reigning champion of the DDFL once again had a Canton worthy draft. He is blessed with ravishing good looks, a Lombardi level football intellect, and the cunning of a fox on Adderall.
GARF has a lot of top end talent with a bench that has a ton of high upside potential. The pick that stands out most is the Hayden Hurst pick in the 13th round. Last year Austin Hooper was schemed open more than any other TE and ended the season as the TE2. Hurst is much more talented than Hooper and is set to feast in the Falcons offense. Draft Grade - A+
Best Pick - All of them Worst pick - None of them |
While I thoroughly question someone who is willing to take someone who was recently holding out of practice due to a contract dispute in the first round, I have to give it up to Travis. He had a solid, although unspectacular draft.
Unlike GARF he took high upside unknown quantities with is top picks, so his starting roster is littered with pitfalls. I wish I could give him an F just for drafting two QBs in an 8 team league, as that is the most heinous of sins. Unfortunately the grading system doesn't take that into consideration. The Badgers have on glaring weakness, the WR position. His WR2 is some combination of Robert "God I hope Goff doesn't hate me" Woods, DeVante "I hope my team scores a TD this season" Parker, Dallas' WR3, and the entire corps of the Denver Broncos. I am not saying one of them can't break out, my bet is Parker, but it will be a hell of a decision each week on who the fuck he will start. Also his RB depth is horrendous. He better hope his sweet buttcheeks that the Saints launder enough money to pay Kamara, and the rook ends up being as good as advertised. Draft Grade :
Best Pick : Michael Gallup, WR +12.9
Worst Pick : James White, RB -23.7 |
It seems evident that GARF's training rubbed off on this fantasy rookie. Although she may not have drafted as much in terms of value as the Badger's I would say her roster has very few holes. She has solid depth at WR and RB and has some great Boom or Bust candidates on the bench in Diggs and Akers.
The main pick that dragged her down was using her loins to pick Adam Theilen in the 4th. Theilen may make Sarah's pants wet enough to drown a baby, it may also drown her hopes at a DDFL title. The mid-rounds are so key and Theilen may have been able to be had a round later.
She obviously realized that part of Theilen's production comes from the coverage that Diggs drew, but nobody explained the FANTASY part of Fantasy Football to her. No Sarah having Diggs on you Fantasy team won't draw double coverage away from you golden boy. Draft Grade :
Best Pick : Cam Akers, RB +12.7
Worst Pick : Adam Thielen, WR -7.5 |
A solidly average to above average draft from another GARF acolyte. She is somewhat banking on Todd Gurley's knee to get some sorta futuristic graphene STEM cell injection to make him whole again.
A few highlights include the D.Montgomery and the D.Johnson pick. Duncan was able to identify a few fallers in the draft and snap them up. Where she faltered was playing the homer and selecting the Vikings DST in the 12th. Hopefully she can use Eric Kendricks as a tampon to stem the bleeding from this awful pick.
That being said our two fantasy Rookies proved that they are something to be reckoned with in the 2nd annual season of the DDFL.
Draft Grade :
Best Pick : David Montgomery, RB +18
Worst Pick : Vikings D/ST, -94.8 |
Donn is a real champion, he took a break from getting his ass eaten by mosquitoes in the woods to join us. He thought he would miss the draft but then that old ass man realized phones have internet now. Somehow this man is in IT. He may have been better auto-drafting, and he may have picked an apt name for himself as he did fumble something out of his butt with this draft.
To be fair when I look at Donn's roster it isn't terrible, and this is why he is the king of shit mountain. He may have not gotten great value, but his starting squad is respectable. Depth is where he runs into issues. One of the main gripes I have is him taking Ronald Jones in the 10th. For fucks sake, do you not pay attention? Leonard Fournette was signed by the Buc's days ago to replace him!
Draft Grade :
Best Pick : Miles Sanders, RB +12.8
Worst Pick : Ronald Jones, RB -25.9 |
I have never met Larry, he also did not join us for the draft, and auto-drafted. I can only presume that Larry is Travis' sex doll that he used to fill out the necessary 8 teams this year.
So I can't fault Larry too much as silicon hands make it hard to draft. But despite drafting a D/ST in the 8th and a K in the 9th SOMEHOW you were not even in the worst two of this years drafts. Your best pick was your BACKUP QB, jesus man you better bring it in the waiver wire this year.
Draft Grade :
Draft Grade :
Best Pick : Carson Wentz QB, +5.8
Worst Pick : Harrison Butker, -103.1 |
I know that James has been away from the Fantasy scene for a while so I will give him some credit. But James, you were beaten out by two rookies, an alleged sex doll, and a man with a satan beard who's going all Into the Wild on us. You should be ashamed. Watching you draft was like watching siblings passionately kiss.
You going Mahome's in Round 1 absolutely doomed your fantasy chances this year. You could've done more to dig yourself out of this whole but now you have a backup RB as your FLEX. Good god man, about the only good pick you made was when you wanted to spite Travis by drafting Edelman. If you had just drafted as a joke it may have turned out better.
Draft Grade :
Best Pick : Julian Edelman WR +9.8
Worst Pick : Aaron Rodgers QB -44.3 |
So I will preface this, that Travis has complained for years that despite his mom's.... unconventional drafting style she always seems to beat him and end at the top of her league. I am curious what kinda black magic waiver wire witchery is needed to continuously pull this off. Every pick she made in the early rounds was simply a gift to the rest of the league.
Let me make my case that Debbie is a dark wizard that should be treated with both suspicion and caution
Draft Grade :
Best Pick : Who gives a shit
Worst Pick : Drew Brees QB -34.1 |
